Julia Fullerton-Batten

Julia Fullerton-Batten was born in Bremen Germany. She is now a well-established professional photographer, and has developed a worldwide reputation as a fine art photographer. Her first book, Julia Fullerton-Batten: Teenage Stories, profiling her study of teenage girls, was published by Actes Sud in 2007.

Her work has been exhibited in galleries throughout the world. She has permanent collections in The National Portrait Gallery, London and Musee d'Elysee, Lausanne, Switzerland. She has been profiled in international magazines, and was recently a guest speaker at the National Geographic Seminar, Washington DC. Her images were used for the front covers of A Guide to collecting Contemporary Photography (Thames and Hudson, 2012) and Eyemazing Magazine.

Recent exhibitions include: Pompidou Centre, Paris, 2010, Daegu Photo Biennale (curated by Charlotte Cotton), Korea, 2012, Norderlicht Photofestival, 2012, Pingyao Photography Festival, China, 2012.
