Step 1

Read the rules and consider the categories.

Step 2

Prepare your entry. You can enter as many categories as you like, and you can enter as many images as you like. Each entry should be a JPG image of not more than 800 pixels on the longest side, and not more than 200 Kb in file size.

Step 3

Sign up to the site. You'll be asked for your contact details (so we can notify you if you win), and you can choose your own password. Once you've registered you can log in to your own private area on the site where you can upload your entry.

Step 4

Once you've uploaded your entry you'll need to pay the entry fee. This is either £15 for a single image, or £25 for up to four images. The entry fee can be paid by credit or debit card using PayPal, and your entry fee goes to The Lavender Trust to support younger people with breast cancer.

Step 5

Sit back and watch your pictures appear in the online gallery.

Prize money

There are lots of opportunities to win something. The overall winner of the competition will receive the Renaissance Prize of £3,000. The winner in each category will receive the category prize of £500. The runner-up in each category will receive £250.

Exhibition

And for 60 finalists, there is an additional benefit of getting real exposure with an exhibition in a leading London gallery where your work will be sold. You'll even get a share of the proceeds.

Nothing. You keep copyright of all your work, and get a nice warm glow from knowing your entry fee will be used to support younger people with breast cancer.

The competition opens at 10 a.m. on the 1st October 2008. It closes at 10 p.m. on the 11th January 2009. Judging takes place on the 20th January 2009, and winners will be notified soon after.
