Director of Photography at Flowers Gallery, London
Chris is a curator and artist based in London. Born and raised in Hong Kong, he began by working at Tate Modern’s bookshop before studying at Chelsea college of Art and London College of Communication. Chris's current role involves representing some of the world’s leading contemporary photographers at one of London’s longest standing commercial galleries. Flowers recently celebrated its 40th anniversary and opened a new space in New York in addition to their two London galleries.
As well as representing over 40 artists including Edward Burtynsky, Robert Polidori, Nadav Kander, Michael Wolf, Simon Roberts and Mona Kuhn, Flowers also hosts a photographic project space in east London. This was established by Chris in 2008 to showcase more experimental practitioners alongside the programme of established photographers.
Flowers Gallery is becoming an increasingly important launch pad for the trajectories of new photographic artists into the UK art world. Artists such as Julie Cockburn, Tom Lovelace and Darren Harvey-Regan have all been exhibited and supported through this programme.
