The judges will select 60 images (the Finalist Images) to be exhibited.
From the Finalist Images, the judges will select 12 images (3 single images in each category of the Single-image Competition and 3 series in the Series Competition) as the shortlist (the Shortlist). From the Shortlist the judges will choose:

Shortlisted photographers will be notified by email in June 2013. Email delivery receipt will be deemed proof of notification and any time period will run from this date. The names of the finalists, including the shortlisted photographers, will be posted on the website.
Winners will be announced during the award ceremony in the Autumn 2013 (the Award Ceremony). Travel and accommodation costs to attend the Award Ceremony are at the expense of the finalist.
The judges' decision is final and no discussion or correspondence can be entered into in respect of their decision.
The names of the judges are subject to change without notice at the sole discretion of the organisers.
Prizes
Prizes are listed on the Prizes Page.
Prize winners will be announced and prizes awarded at the awards ceremony. If any prize winners are unable to attend the Awards Ceremony their prize money will be transferred to them (less bank charges) within 10 days of the exhibition. If the prize includes a voucher from one of the supporters, arrangements for sending/activating this will be made with the individual winners after the Award Ceremony.
Prizes are non-transferable and non-cash prizes are not redeemable for cash.
Where prizes are location specific (e.g. portfolio review) and the prize winner cannot travel, the organisers will make reasonable efforts to offer an online solution.
Send a high resolution file
If your image is selected as a Finalist Image for the Exhibition, whether taken digitally or on film, you must within 10 days of notification:
- Provide a high resolution 300dpi file, minimum 40 cm on the shortest side when printed. The high resolution file should be saved as a jpeg and the filesize should not exceed 20 MB when sent to the competition. Details of how to supply files will be provided at time of notification.
- All prints will be made by the organisers using archival exhibition printing.
Failure to provide a high resolution file within this timeframe may result in you forfeiting your prize and/or your place in the exhibition.
Printing and framing
We work with sponsors to print high quality archival exhibition prints from the High Res File you provide. For this reason you may not exhibit your own print.
Sale of images
The Finalist Images will be available for sale during the Exhibition, at the Awards Ceremony and for a period of 6 months after the exhibition (including online on the Renaissance website) to raise money for the Charity.
The sale price will be determined by the organisers and is not disputable.
Proceeds from the sale of the first print of an image will go to the Charity.
Net proceeds from subsequent sales of an image (after printing costs) will be split 50/50 between the Charity and the photographer.
Limited edition images
If a Finalist Image is part of an edition of prints, you agree to allow the Competition to print its own size for the exhibition. This can be in the same or separate edition, depending on your limitations and preference, but must be at the size and price determined by the Competition. We will agree with you how many prints to make available for sale.
Where a print is part of a limited edition, full information must be disclosed at the time of supplying the High Res file, and will be displayed on the exhibition label and Renaissance website.
