To be shortlisted for an award from almost 7000 submissions is a great achievement, and I am really honoured and delighted. It definitely gives me extra motivation to continue work on my project.

I am honoured to be shortlisted and take part of the Renaissance exhibition with other great photographers. This opportunity brought me determination to continue working on projects in which I have a personal attachment. I feel more motivated than ever and I hope to reflect this enthusiasm in the project I am currently working on.

The Renaissance competition raises cash for a great charity, the Lavender Trust at Breast Cancer Care. It gives the chance for any photographer to have their work judged by a panel of industry luminaries."
Martin Parr
Magnum photographer and Renaissance judge 2009 and 2014
Thanks to the money raised by Renaissance each year we can continue to grow our services and really make a difference to the lives of younger women affected by breast cancer."
Claire Pulford
Head of Events at Breast Cancer Care
Judging the Renaissance prize was a very rewarding challenge. We couldn’t reach a unanimous decision after an intense day of collective judging, so the individual judges spent a few days reflecting on the broader shortlist. I for one feel very proud to be associated with this award. The shortlisted photographers are strong and original, whilst funds are raised to benefit the important work done by The Lavender Trust."
Chris Littlewood
Director of Photography at Flowers Gallery, London and Renaissance Judge 2013 and 2014
I'm very honoured to have won the 'Best Series', especially having seen the strong work of the other artists in the competition. I feel it is extremely important to support organisations such as the the Lavender Trust as the importance of their work can't be highlighted enough. "

About Renaissance Photography Prize
Renaissance Photography Prize is an international award that showcases outstanding photography from emerging and established photographers while raising funds to support young women with breast cancer.
Now in its eighth year, the prize is looking to discover talent and celebrate the best in photography, giving image makers access to new opportunities and world-wide audience for their work. Entering gives photographers the chance to have their work seen by a panel of some of the industry's most influential photography critics, as well as being exhibited in London, UK.
Photographers can enter single images and/or series of work. The competition is open to everyone and welcomes entries from all countries. All profit from entry fees is donated to The Lavender Trust at Breast Cancer Care, UK, a charity that supports younger women affected by the disease. Currently, one third of the Lavender Trust’s annual funding comes from the Renaissance Photography Prize.
The Renaissance Photography Prize exhibition presents the judges' selection of some of the best international photography today. The winners get announced at the Awards Ceremony, late autumn 2015. The annual Portfolio Review will take place during the exhibition weeks, where anyone has the chance to get their work reviewed by gallery directors, curators, agents and editors.
Renaissance Photography Prize was founded in 2007 by Fiona Gifford following her diagnosis with breast cancer at the age of 34. Since then it has raised over £250,000 for the Lavender Trust at Breast Cancer Care.
The prize is now managed and curated by Monica Takvam with the help of a team of dedicated volunteers.
