The charity gala

The Renaissance competition was run for the first time in 2007/2008 and raised £30,000 for the Lavender Trust. Over 700 photographs were entered into the competition, judged by Eamonn McCabe, Mary McCartney and KT Tunstall. Renaissance culminated in a celebrity gala and auction attended by Cherie Blair, David Mitchell and Katie Derham. This video is a short podcast of the 2008 celebrity private view.

Renaissance is the brainchild of Fiona Gifford, a 35 year old lawyer who was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2006. It has been organised by a committee of volunteers with the support of the Lavender Trust, and all proceeds will be donated to the charity.
